Jake and his best friends navigate through puberty, playing pool, watching porn and getting drunk. While his group has girls on their minds at all times, Jake retreats, only half-heartedly attempting to lose his virginity, and appease his friends. Jake’s interests increasingly point in a different direction, one which he can never admit.

Rafael Kapelinski

Originally a banker, Rafael quit to pursue a career in lm. Since 2006 he has created some of the most distinctive short lms that have won over twenty- ve international awards at top their festivals such as Austin, New Horizons and Oberhausen.

Between 1993 - 1994 he worked as the Director of the Festival Of ce for the Camerimage Film Festival in Torun, Poland.

He later attended the top lm schools including the Andrzej Wajda Post-Graduate Master School of Film Directing (Ekran), The London Film School and the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the UK.

His short Emily Cries, won Best European mid-length lm at the 2007 Brest International short Film Festival. His short To Bury The Horse was the nalist in the European Bosch Short Film Competition. In 2009 he won the Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation Residence Award and in the same year
he was in Variety’s list of new directors to watch. He was story consultant on Edmond, a BAFTA and multi-award winning short animation by Nina Gantz.

He made his feature directing debut with Butter y Kisses (2016) produced by Blue Shadows Films, and developed through the BBC and Film London Microwave scheme. Butter y Kisses had its world premiere in the Generation section at the 2017 International Berlin Film Festival. He is teaming up with the same producer for his next feature, Cranley Gardens.

He is also developing a feature Budapest Diaries (developed as part of Les Premiers Plans) with Domino Film (The Valley of the Gods by Lech Majewski starring John Malkovich) and the Polish Film Institute. He lectures in lm directing and visual storytelling at the London Film School.
